The UK Home Office have announced and published a new policy law as temporary measures for sponsored students. Here are some of the key points:
-
Educational providers, referred as Student Sponsors, must keep careful recordings of students.
-
UK Home Office will only investigate Sponsor’s who fail to meet the compliance requirements.
-
The UK Home Office will not reduce the Certificate of Acceptance for Studies (CAS).
In reference to distance learning, students can continue to complete their studies through the current distance learning whether they are in the UK or outside of the UK. The UK Home Office will allow students to resume their face to face learning once the circumstances permit you.
The UK Home Office have confirmed that the educational providers are not required to withdraw sponsorship for new students who have been issued the CAS and can manage the circumstances, recording the matter in the student sponsor management system.
In reference to the students who have not applied for their student visa from outside of the UK, wishes to undertake the course in distance learning before travelling to the UK, must have a CAS assigned and issued. Those students, who do not wish to study in the UK but complete the entire course in distance learning, do not need a CAS because they do not need a UK visa.
The UK Home Office will allow flexibility in their policies, for those students who stop their study and wishes to resume when they intend to attend classrooms. Future immigration applications and time spent would be given due consideration in their student applications.
As policy for sponsored students, Keeping evidences by the Sponsors, in other words, educational providers, is still required and all mandatory evidences will need to be shown as part of the compliance test.
Employers in the UK are able to do right work checks through the UK Home Office. There are some changes to the policies of checking the work.
